Pneumatic Atomizing Nozzles

Lance Atomizers

In continuous casting, particularly slab casting, lance atomizers replace conventional compact atomizers, also known as block atomizers. These atomizers feature a body equipped with an extension, and the spray tip is positioned at the exit end of this extension. This design is necessary due to the spatial constraints of inserting the spraying pipe between rolls, where clearance is often minimal. The use of lance atomizers also allows for positioning the feeding pipes away from the intensely heated areas near the slabs, which block atomizers cannot accommodate.

Lance atomizers can be classified based on several parameters:

Atomizer Body: The section where atomization occurs, connected to the fluid feeding ducts via a plug-in connection. Depending on the model, the body may have different shapes and can be either cast or machined.
Pipe Geometry: Available with either a straight or bent pipe.
Pipe-to-Body Connection: The extension pipe may be welded onto the block body or screwed in place using a locknut.
